Steven Komakech

Biography

Steven is a Transformation Programme Manager at NHS England, leading work with Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) and Trusts on Workforce Development, Transformation, Redesign and the Long-Term Workforce Plan. Before assuming this role, Steven was a Delivery Lead in National Workforce Planning and Intelligence team.

Steven has 21 years of NHS experience, having joined the NHS on a graduate programme. He trained across 4 Trusts in London. Prior to joining NHS England, he was Head of Workforce Planning and Intelligence at Trust level and led systems improvement programmes for 15 years in some of the biggest NHS Trusts in the UK.

Steven holds a BSc in Chemistry from University College London (UCL), an MSc in Health Services Management from City University London, and postgraduate qualifications in Strategic Workforce Planning from Manchester University. He is a Chartered member of the Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD) and holds certifications in PRINCE2, Agile and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP).

DBS Board Apprentice

Board Apprentices join for one year to gain first-hand experience, through observation, of the workings and dynamics of Boards. They are identified through partnerships with the ‘Black on Board’ and ‘Boardroom Apprentice’ schemes. The role of Board Apprentice provides training and support, as well as an opportunity to gain experience, before taking the step to become a fully signed-up Board Member.
