Annoying wsl.exe command prompt window pops up all the time #237422

As I use VS Code wsl.exe command prompt window pops up all the time even though I don't use WSL nor do I intend/interested in using it. It wasn't occurring in earlier versions of VS Code, so must be some changes in the recent months.
VS Code version: Code 1.96.1 (42b2661, 2024-12-17T17:50:05.206Z)
