Maybe add a feature for public repos to symmetrically encrypt email addresses of senders. Show some part of the email address (the text name, or maybe the username but not domain) and encrypt the actual address in the metadata.

This would allow public repos to avoid leaking email addresses for spam prevention.

This is far less necessary now that private repos are free on GitHub
