The tutorial diagrams look a little lackluster. They use low-resolution aliased lines, and it's odd how the corners of the blocks are wider than the other parts.

It's OK for these to have a simple look, but they should be higher resolution and the blocks should look like they're drawn with a pencil, not extruded using a photoshop filter.
