I have developed a theory which I call “The Instrumentation of Life” which says that similar to creating autonomous machines, prior to creating plants or animals, some intelligent being had to create the sensors for light, sound, location, pressure, chemicals etc. (which enables sight, hearing, smell/taste). This intelligent being also had to have knowledge of the properties of light, sound, chemistry etc. and the wherewithal to use available resources to create these sensors. This entity also had the aptitude to embed these sensors into living organism to enable intelligent responses to sight, sound, smell, location (fish, birds, turtles etc.) in living organisms.
