I am in need of a highly skilled google sheet developer to create a comprehensive sheet application for my diamond and gold jewelry manufacturing business.
Project Overview:
I am the owner of a gold jewelry manufacturing business, and we currently rely on physically writing down for our daily accounting and operations management. The objective of this project is to develop a google sheet application that will help us efficiently manage our business processes. Our business consists of 4 key departments: Desing, Manufacturing ,inventory management and sales. Each of these departments has unique accounting needs.
Key stake holders involved
1. Design team
The design team has 2 key sub teams
a. Designer - some one who designs a product using either and iPad or the traditional pen and paper
b. CAD - a designer who uses rhino / matrix to design the first iteration of our 2 d design before it goes into 3D printing
2. Karrigars (small manufacturing units)
Based on orders, these manufacturing units are given raw materials for specific products such as diamonds, pearls, emeralds and rubies.
Gold is given to them on account. Please note that there are various different kinds of categories within any raw materials.
3. Sales men - important soldiers to the company who need to be well equipped with prices on time to enable sales.
4. Manager - requires an over view inorder to manage his team and be as efficient as possible.
For example, gold has two main purities (999 and 995)
Diamonds have different shapes and sizes and same goes for pearls, rubies, gemstones etc.
Kaarigars could get work in 2 different ways
1. Product specific - when something is manufactured for a client specifically (in which case we could be giving them raw materials that could be partially ours and partially the clients.
2. Client specific - where the client has requested a small job work for completion of work using their raw materials or could be just basic repair work.
Typically, at the end of each and every job, the diamonds and other raw materials are returned to us as we need to know exactly how much of what diamonds have gone in to the product itself. For example, one pair of earrings have 10 diamonds of 0.20 carats and 2 pearls of 30.02 carats. The Gold weight is removed by reducing the weight of the diamonds and pearls (in this case) from the gross weight if the product which is taken physically.
Key Functionalities Required:
1. Keep a tab of purchases made by purchase department. What has come in to the company and whom has it been bought from and at what rate. When payments have been made, what my terms are of payment (60 days, 90 days etc) and what the due date of payment is
2. Issuing of raw material (in the form of a bill) given to every kaarigar (worker) every time some raw materials have been issued (this has to be by product/jewellery being manufactured)
Track receipts of raw materials from the kaarigar. At every point of time, we can then know exactly how much raw material is with whom to assess risk involved and keep our risk in check
Track payments being made to the kaarigar as well as labour / cost incurred.
2. Karigar (Worker) Account Management:
- Create a module to manage accounts of our karigars.
- Track payments, expenses, and balances for each worker.
- Allow for the uploading of receipts associated with karigar transactions.
4. Jewelry Stock Management:
- Develop a module to maintain detailed inventory records, including information on each jewelry set and its component weights. (this should be automatically pulled out from the manufacturer sheet based on the unique code assigned)
Please note, as far as inventory is concerned we have 2 different sales channels i.e. b2b and b2c so pricing of each and every product will differ based on whether we require the b2b pricing or b2c pricing.
