Freelance ASL Expert for Motion Capture Accuracy Review (Live Call Preferred)
Project Overview:
I am seeking a freelance ASL expert to evaluate the accuracy of our motion capture technology in capturing American Sign Language (ASL). We have a collection of short motion capture result videos (each 5-10 seconds long) derived from stock ASL footage. The goal is to determine whether the signing remains clear and understandable to viewers after being processed through our mocap system.
Instead of just providing written feedback, we prefer to discuss the results in a live call with the freelancer. This will allow us to explain the context, ask clarifying questions, and ensure we get the insights we need regarding the quality and readability of the captured movements.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in a live call to review the motion capture results and provide real-time feedback.
- Evaluate whether the signing in the mocap results is accurate, clear, and natural-looking.
- Identify any motion discrepancies, such as missing, distorted, or unnatural hand movements.
- Optionally, offer recommendations for improving motion capture accuracy for ASL.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) (native signer or fluent preferred).
- Experience in ASL translation and motion analysis (educational, accessibility, or mocap-related content preferred).
- Understanding of motion capture and animation is a plus but not required.
- Ability to articulate clear feedback on signing accuracy and legibility in real-time.
Project Details:
- Scope: Review a set of short motion capture clips (several clips, each 5-10 seconds long).
- Format: Live call-based review (not just written feedback).
- Purpose: Ensuring ASL motion capture results are accurate, readable, and understandable.
- Compensation: Open to discussion based on experience.
