We are seeking a skilled professional or team to assist in the development of a custom drone prototype that will be controlled using a Steam Deck. This project involves creating a functional prototype that meets the following criteria: Objective To design and build a compact quadcopter drone that: Can be controlled via the Steam Deck (running either Windows or Linux). Streams live video feed to the Steam Deck. Launches to a specific height and hovers autonomously before manual control is taken over. Uses ELRS (ExpressLRS) for communication. Prototype Specifications Drone Type: Quadcopter. Size: Compact, with a maximum dimension of 10 inches. Video System: High-quality video transmission with a good range (WalkSnail is the preferred option). Communication: ELRS (ExpressLRS) for precise, low-latency control. Platform Integration: Steam Deck as the primary control interface. Steam Deck can run Windows or Linux—familiarity with the device and its capabilities is essential. Control System: Basic controls integrated with the Steam Deck interface for: Launching to a specific height. Hovering and transitioning to manual control. Instructions: Comprehensive step-by-step guidance on assembling the drone, including wiring diagrams and setup instructions. Responsibilities Provide expertise in hardware and software integration between the drone and the Steam Deck. Recommend and source compatible components for the prototype. Offer detailed instructions for the assembly and configuration process. Assist with troubleshooting and initial testing of the drone.
