This initiative aims to provide the Government Accountability Office (GAO) with high-quality daily news clipping reports and monthly media analytics, ensuring all content meets the GAO's stringent requirements. Key Responsibilities - QA and Monthlies Daily Quality Assurance: Perform human review of daily news clipping reports to ensure relevancy, accuracy, and compliance with GAO standards. Verify that all links are working and that there are no duplicate articles. Ensure that news articles and mentions are relevant and sourced from original media outlets. Organize articles by category: first by Broadcast, then by Print/Online, then by Social Media, and within each category by relevance and reach. Process Documentation: Develop and document a process for curating a GAO-focused news clippings newsletter. Create and maintain a search-string strategy that includes all iterations of GAO's name and other relevant terms (e.g., U.S. Government Accountability Office, GAO, Comptroller General, Eugene Dodaro). Monthly Media Analytics Reports: Prepare comprehensive monthly reports analyzing news coverage emails over time. Include data points such as media type, article coverage, top sources, impressions, impact, automated prominence, tone, and "share of voice" metrics. Pinpoint the location of media coverage by Designated Market Area (DMA), city, and state. Provide summary statements describing the overall media impact and vendor conclusions. Technical Support and Client Interaction: Relay requests for updates for scraping script to manager. Act as the primary representative handling GAO's account, available daily for modifications to the news clipping list and distribution list. Respond promptly to technical issues and requests for alterations in the daily news clipping reports. Collaborate with GAO to modify media outlet lists, adjust formatting, and incorporate "must include" or "exclude" media sources. Continuity Planning: Ensure seamless transition and continuity of service in the event of personnel changes. Provide documentation on the designated media analyst who will conduct daily reviews if replacements are necessary. Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 5 years in public relations, media relations, or a related field. Expertise: Strong understanding of media analysis and the ability to interpret media metrics. Attention to Detail: Exceptional commitment to accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
