NetCDF 3D datasets into a series of 2D datasets
The task is to update an existing program WIM/WAM ([login to view URL]) that visualizes and processes satellite data in various formats. NetCDF4 has already been added to WIM/WAM and works for many data types. A specific 3D data format using netCDF4 that has 52 bands of 2D data is not being read correctly. It needs to be read into 52 bands of 2D data.
Note: this is a Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 or later project.
The task is to read these either selected or all “layers” of the 52 bands with corresponding longitudes and latitudes as regular 2D datasets. After completion of this Task1, follow-on tasks will be proposed. Long-term but irregular tasks will be proposed if previous tasks are completed well.
When reading a sample netCDF file, WIM shows the following datasets:
Name width height type
rhos 52 1272 float
l2_flags 1272 1710 int
longitude 1272 1710 float
latitude 1272 1710 float
Here the dataset rhos is actually 52 (layers) x 1272 x 1710 and is not read correctly.
Should be read either as all 52 layers or selected layers of 1272 x 1710 float datasets.
