(****Revised request****)
I'm in need of a skilled structural engineer to design a seismic joint detail for a residential building constructed from wood. The primary goal is to guarantee the structure's stability during any potential seismic activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design seismic joints using standard wood joints to ensure the home can withstand earthquakes while accommodating necessary thermal expansion.
- Create structural plans and calculations demonstrating that the additional floor design of the Accessory Dwelling Unit (AADU) complies with local building codes.
- Clearly indicate the locations of the seismic joints on the plans.
We provided approved plans for the drawing, the red clouded area needs seismic calculations for the second floor connection to the Attached Dwelling Unit in the back yard. (not the whole structure) we also provided pictures of expansion joint on the drawings for approval or replacement for wood structures (up to engineer)
Ideal candidates for this project should have:
- Extensive experience in structural engineering, particularly with wood residential buildings.
- Profound understanding of seismic joint design.
- Ability to create designs that ensure structural stability.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- We require the design to be stamped by a Structural Engineer, the candidate should consider this is the bid.
Your expertise will play a crucial role in protecting this home from potential earthquake damage.
Please use Revit for creating the structural plans. Include detailed structural calculations with the design.
