Need Freelancer for development of excel spreadsheet tool for financial projections, scenario analysis and presentation materials for same.
Spreadsheet function is to calculate cash position and standard EBIT/EBITDA information from 2023 to 2040 (pre-revenue through profitability) for a (renewable energy) technology development and licensing company: not manufacturer, not a software developer, nor SAS provider.
The basic financial structure includes simple operating cost structure, project-based revenues, non-operating income, minimal capex and equity infusion.
Project Revenue Types are:
• License payments based on milestones related to tangible progress for design, construction and commissioning of commercial and annual annuities (royalties) based on plant capacity (or annual sales of products)
• Milestone payments for use of the proprietary process design package and specifications for engineering related to tangible progress on design, construction, commissioning and hand over of commercial plants
• Payment for engineering and technical services provided during all phases of project execution, including commissioning
• Delivery of proprietary catalyst for plant commissioning
Quarterly and annual numbers – no need for monthly resolution.
Basic Functionality is anticipated in 11 main tabs, with potential additional tabs or combine them as needed for structural integrity of the spreadsheet and data inputs. Expect a standard package of graphic/tables included for output, and spreadsheet annotation describing the basic functionalities and inter-tab linkages.
Cash Flow Tab - This tab contains the integrated cash flow model and is the tab on which most of the calculations and toggles for scenario options will be included;
• Calculates and shows the cash flow and cash position from 2023 to 2040 (pre-revenue through profitability) including expenses, revenues and non-operating income for a technology development company with simple operating cost structure.
• Backbone supporting tabs for generating reports, exports, graphs and the like
• Quarterly and annual numbers – no need for monthly resolution.
This tab will be used primarily for showing the company’s cash position in more detail than the P&L tab for revenues, costs of good, headcount growth and includes any cash flow ‘corrections’ such as for depreciation and non-operating income accruals and customer payments that are amortized beyond the year of receipt, and for assessment of operating cash needs, and to assess scenarios for market entry and financing options.
The cash flow model will rely on a baseline of cost/expense assumptions input from current budget and actuals, and will require toggles for scenario evaluation:
• toggle for selection of expense growth options (% growth/inflation)
• toggle for selection of different revenue projections; multiple revenue scenarios are anticipated and would be calculated on a separate tab from the main cash flow calculation tab, using external data inputs
The cash flow tab would import values from:
Budget tab – contains last 2 years actuals and approved budget for current year -linked to company financials inputs and maps values from actual cost categories to simpler aggregated expense categories in Cash Flow model,
Project Revenues tab – calculates annual revenues from project scenario data in external spreadsheets and includes project revenues that are secured
Headcount tab – calculates annual headcount increase based on manual inputs and formula linked to Project Revenue tab calculation tab
Capex tab – contains capex projections, separate from the budget tab
Cost of Goods tab – calculates cost of goods and expenses required to secure revenues based on input from Project Revenues tab, for calculation of gross revenues ‘above the line’ in the Cash Flow tab
Lookup tab – Standard input table with standard information available to all other tabs including numerical standards, conversion coefficients, mass, energy, and other measures requiring unit conversion (e.g. dollars to EURO; kg to pounds; mmbtu to MWh…)
The Cash Flow tab will provide data for export to tabs for creating reports, tables, figures and dashboards:
P&L tab – standard P&L format from 2023 through 2040; highlighting 2025 through 2029 (“midterm planning”). The data inputs to the P&L will be imported from the Cash Flow tab. This tab will be used for sharing basic accounting projections aligned with the Company’s regular reporting, and as the basis to calculate EBIT, EBITDA, company valuation.
Market Impacts tab - calculates annual ancillary and adjacent market impacts and value for third parties based on inputs from Cash Flow tab strategic investors or licensors of the Company’s technology that include derivative calculations from project specific parameters, such as hours of operation, product volume and that allow estimation of cumulative and annual values
Graph Data tab – collection tab for data tables that will be used for excel created graphs or for import into other presentation platforms
Graphs tab – will import and provide standard format excel graphics for export to dashboards and presentation materials (e.g. powerpoint).
