I have started C and C++ development in 1986 on a 2D CAD system. For the last 17 years, I've been employed as a Senior Developer/DevOps Engineer by an IT infrastructure management and network monitoring company. After reaching retirement age I was still kept on for a further 5 years on a contract basis. My primary...I have started C and C++ development in 1986 on a 2D CAD system. For the last 17 years, I've been employed as a Senior Developer/DevOps Engineer by an IT infrastructure management and network monitoring company. After reaching retirement age I was still kept on for a further 5 years on a contract basis. My primary focus is on C++ software development, testing, debugging and internal and client support. The software itself was for Linux servers. Various network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls and servers had to be monitored using SNMP, WMI, direct Telnet/SSH access and proprietary APIs. During this time I often do Bash scripting to support debugging efforts and in particular regular expression usage to parse data. In the past few years, I have also done a limited amount of Nodejs development and support. In my private capacity, I have started doing projects on the Raspberry Pi and Pico series microcontrollers, primarily geared to sensor monitoring for automated processes. Programming in MicroPython and C/C++. I am a very dedicated person and a bit of a perfectionist in my work. I enjoy new challenges and the opportunity to learn from them. I am also very loyal to my employer. As I have been working full-time for the last 17 years, often doing extended hours, I had very little opportunity to create a personal portfolio of work. I work under strict non disclosure agreements and often deal with client and supplier intellectual property. mindre
