Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Wikipedia Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Wikipedia’s policies, guidelines, and best practices. This role involves creating, editing, and managing Wikipedia pages to ensure accurate, well-cited, and neutral representation of individuals, organizations, or topics.
Responsibilities:
- Create and edit Wikipedia pages in compliance with Wikipedia’s notability and content guidelines.
- Ensure all content is supported by reliable, third-party sources and adheres to Wikipedia’s neutral point of view.
- Monitor and update pages regularly to maintain accuracy and relevance.
- Address issues raised by the Wikipedia community, including disputes or page challenges.
- Stay updated on changes to Wikipedia’s policies and practices.
- Collaborate with team members to gather necessary information and references.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of successfully creating or editing Wikipedia pages.
- Thorough knowledge of Wikipedia’s notability, verifiability, and neutrality guidelines.
- Strong research skills with the ability to identify credible and reliable sources.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Wikipedia’s technical tools, such as templates, infoboxes, and references formatting.
- Experience with conflict resolution and engaging constructively with the Wikipedia community.
