it is clear from photo attached with project that already wooden retaining wall is construction. in my opinion , you should not dismantled that one , you have to place the stone in slope 1:2 in front of wooden wall with five feet wide x 1 ft deep base at bottom of wall for providing firm foundation for stone at slope.
