We are seeking a talented and creative Freelance Ghostwriter to help bring an exciting, educational non-fiction book to life for junior readers (ages 8-12). This book will explain the concept of diversity using an innovative analogy, comparing diversity to a compass with cardinal and intercardinal points to make it easy and engaging for young readers to understand.
This book will:
- Introduce the concept of diversity in a simple, kid-friendly way.
- Use the metaphor of a compass - North, East, South, West - to explain different types of diversity, including cultural, linguistic, religious, and physical differences and intercardinal in-between directions to explain different perspectives that shapes our uniqueness of who we are.
- Emphasize the value of understanding, accepting, and celebrating the unique qualities that everyone brings to the world.
- Include stories, examples, and interactive illustrations and elements that help children relate to and engage with the content.
Responsibilities:
- Write a 2000-5000 words non-fiction book based on the provided concept and outline.
- Craft engaging stories and examples that resonate with junior readers.
- Simplify complex topics (such as cultural differences, inclusion, and diversity) in a fun and approachable way using illustrations.
- Work closely with us to develop content that aligns with our educational goals and message.
- Revise and edit the manuscript based on feedback to ensure the content is age-appropriate, clear, and compelling.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in writing non-fiction content for children, especially on educational or social topics.
- Strong storytelling abilities that can connect with a younger audience.
- Ability to explain complex ideas in a simple and engaging manner.
- Understanding of diversity, inclusion, and cultural sensitivity.
- Reliable communication and adherence to deadlines.
- Previous experience in ghostwriting is a plus.
