Living Room Redesign Project General Description: Our living room is the heart of our home, a space where we spend most of our time as a family. We are a family of four: myself (I return home late in the afternoon), my wife (a teacher and marketing consultant who often works from home), and two daughters aged 18 and 13 (who use the sofa and TV for leisure and study). We would like to optimize this space to meet everyone’s needs, combining functionality, aesthetics, and comfort. Project Objectives: 1. Space Optimization: Make the space welcoming, practical, and organized, maximizing every square meter. 2. Multifunctional Areas: Create well-defined zones (relaxation, study, socializing) without compromising the room’s openness and brightness. 3. Contemporary Design: Incorporate a modern and cozy style that reflects our lifestyle. 4. Lighting: Enhance natural light and optimize artificial lighting for various needs (reading, relaxing, working). 5. Materials and Colors: Use durable, low-maintenance materials with a color palette that creates a relaxing and harmonious atmosphere. Current Specifications: • Living room area: approximately 30 sqm (see attached floor plan). • The space is open-plan, integrated with the kitchen (5.55 sqm). • It currently includes an L-shaped sofa, a dining area, and a wall unit with a TV. • We have a Christmas tree that reflects the room’s decorative style during the festive season. Specific Needs: 1. Relaxation Zone: A comfortable, functional sofa for 4 people, possibly with integrated storage space. 2. Dining Area: A cozy yet compact table that can accommodate up to 6 people. 3. TV Wall: A modern, well-organized unit for devices and decorative items. 4. Work/Study Station: A space for my wife to occasionally work and for our daughters to study. 5. Accessories: Suggestions for improving acoustics, space-saving solutions, and decorations that maintain an elegant and warm atmosphere. Additional Requirements: • IKEA-Based Design: The project must exclusively use furniture, decorations, and accessories from IKEA. • Detailed List: A detailed list of all the necessary IKEA items (including product codes) to facilitate purchasing. Provided Materials: • Photos of the current state of the living room. • Detailed floor plan of the living area. What We Look for in a Designer: • Experience in designing family spaces. • In-depth knowledge of the IKEA catalog. • Ability to provide 3D renderings for a clear vision of the project. • Advice on combining IKEA furniture and accessories to optimize the budget and space.
