Contest Brief

I'm seeking a talented illustrator to bring my children's book to life. The book is aimed at the 5-7 year age group and requires 45 cartoonish-style illustrations.

It explains the challenges, and special gifts, of a child with high-functioning autism, and provides examples of accommodations.

The main child is a gender-neutral mixed-race (black-white) 5 year, 3 months, and 27 day year old person, and we walk through the challenges they face.
A good imagination, and creative skills, are highly valued.
I am looking for inspiring visuals.

Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum disorder preferred (a VERY strong preference for someone, with Autism, to do this book)
- Proven experience in children's book illustration
- Strong portfolio of cartoonish-style artwork
- Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate visuals
- Experience working with similar age-targeted projects
- Excellent communication and ability to understand narrative needs
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple illustrations

The illustrations should be:
- Engaging and whimsical to capture the interest of young readers
- Complementary to the narrative of the book
- Consistent in style throughout the book
