Contest Brief

I am looking for a talented landscape designer to create a functional and visually stunning backyard design for my home. The goal is to maximize the space while maintaining a modern and elegant aesthetic that complements the house’s architecture.

Project Requirements:

-Design Concept & 3D Renderings: A clear and realistic visualization of the backyard layout.
-Functional Zones: The design should include distinct areas for:
Outdoor Seating & Entertainment Space (e.g., patio, fire pit, lounge area, hot tub, BBQ etc).
-Greenery & Planting Plan (e.g., trees, shrubs, flower beds, grass, or artificial turf).
-Pathways & Circulation (e.g., stone, gravel, or wood decking).
-Lighting Plan (suggestions for ambient and accent lighting).
-(Optional) Water Feature (if feasible and adds value to the space).
-Material & Plant Selection: Suggestions for hardscaping materials and plants that suit the local climate (Ireland) and require minimal maintenance.
-Privacy & Shelter Considerations: Ideas for fencing, screens, or pergolas that enhance privacy and protection from wind.

Site Details:

-Location: Ireland (temperate climate with mild, wet winters and cool summers).
Style Preference: Modern, clean lines with a natural feel (not overly minimal, but not cluttered).
Size: [Provide rough dimensions if possible].
Constraints: The design should work with existing property boundaries, but otherwise, there is flexibility.
Ideal Candidate:

Experience in landscape architecture or garden design.
Strong 3D rendering and visualization skills.
Creative approach to outdoor spaces while maintaining practicality.
Familiarity with plants and materials suited to Irish weather conditions.
Deliverables:

Concept Design (2D layout with clear zoning).
3D Renderings (realistic visuals of the final design).
Material & Planting List (recommendations for materials and plant species).
Basic Lighting Plan (suggested placement of outdoor lighting).

Additional Notes:
-Please see dimensions attached and ignore the 'zoned areas' of lawn and terrace etc - these are fully open to being redesigned. The blue X on the boundary will be a gate opening up onto a public forest trail so keep that in mind.
