I frequently use Patran 2012 in my Mon-Fri Job to produce mostly 3D meshes but 2D and 1D assessments shouldnt be a problem at all. I most use Patran as the meshing tool and perform the assessment in ANSYS 14, I hope this is acceptable? I am also a design engineer with a lot of CAD experience so if any design or model modifications are required I'l be happy to do so. I typically post process my stress work in a Powerpoint format, describing results, areas of concerns, methodology and mesh details for Rolls-Royce so am happy to do the same for you.
