Project Description:
I am looking for a skilled Data Scientist / Machine Learning Expert to build an AI/ML model that predicts car valuations based on existing historical data. The model should account for car depreciation trends over time, varying depreciation rates for different manufacturers, and original prices (OTR).
Project Requirements:
1. Inputs:
The model should take the following inputs:
• Car Make (Manufacturer, e.g., BMW, Ford, Toyota)
• Car Model
• Year of Manufacture
• OTR (On the Road Price) – original price when new
• Current Date
• Mileage
2. Outputs:
The model should return:
• Predicted car valuation for the specified date.
• Depreciation rate (yearly or overall) for the car.
3. Key Features:
• The model should identify and adapt to different depreciation rates for each manufacturer.
• It should account for the natural depreciation trend of cars as they age.
• The algorithm should be trained using existing valuation data (which I will provide).
Technical Requirements:
1. Data Preprocessing:
• Clean and prepare the provided data.
• Engineer features such as car age, mileage, and OTR ratios.
2. Model Development:
• Use a Supervised Regression Model (e.g., Linear Regression, Random Forest, or Gradient Boosting).
• Consider a more advanced approach (e.g., Neural Networks) if needed.
• Provide an explanation of the model’s accuracy using metrics like MAE (Mean Absolute Error), MSE, and R² score.
3. Deployment:
• Package the trained model into a Python script/API using frameworks like Flask or FastAPI.
• Ensure it accepts inputs (Make, Model, Year, Date, Mileage) and returns outputs (Predicted Valuation, Depreciation Rate).
4. Deliverables:
• Fully trained and tested AI/ML model.
• Clean, well-documented Python code.
• A brief report or README file explaining the model, features used, and performance metrics.
• Instructions for running the model locally or on a server.
What I Will Provide:
• A dataset with car valuation information, including:
• Car Make, Model, Year, Mileage, Valuation Data, and OTR prices.
• Example format of input and output to guide development.
Expected Timeline:
• 1-2 weeks for delivery.
Skills Required:
• Machine Learning and Data Science
• Python (pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch if needed)
• API development using Flask/FastAPI
• Data cleaning and feature engineering
