Help with (sub)query

Hi,
I want to search into my walks database depending on the length.
html is working, subquery is working but can't get the data from the right table.
The subquery is
if($f_len)
$subquery_conditions .= "AND `length` BETWEEN '".($f_len - $f_len_range)."'
AND '".($f_len + $f_len_range )."' ";
}
And that has to come from table gpx_files row length.
Ik think you have to made a extra quelery for that?
