About the Role: We are seeking a skilled SOAP Developer with strong experience in implementing and working with SOAP-based web services. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working directly with the HIPAA Eligibility Transaction System (HETS) SOAP APIs, or similar SOAP-based systems, and should be comfortable in designing, developing, and maintaining SOAP web services in a high-performance environment. As a SOAP Developer on our team, you will be responsible for implementing, integrating, and optimising HETS SOAP APIs, ensuring the smooth operation of web services and resolving technical challenges. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement SOAP-based web services for the HETS system. Work closely with the product and engineering teams to understand requirements and implement effective solutions. Design, implement, and test SOAP-based API integrations for eligibility and claim transactions. Troubleshoot and resolve SOAP-related issues, ensuring high availability and performance. Write efficient, reusable, and reliable code for the HETS SOAP services. Maintain and enhance existing SOAP web services as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HETS APIs with other applications and services. Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines. Perform code reviews and ensure quality assurance practices are followed. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in SOAP-based web service development. Strong knowledge of HETS API or experience with similar SOAP systems (preferably in healthcare, insurance, or government environments). Hands-on experience with web service development frameworks and tools (e.g., Apache CXF, Axis2, JAX-WS, Spring WS). Experience with WSDL, XSD, and SOAP message structure. Expertise in working with XML, JSON, and SOAP Headers. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python. Familiarity with API testing and debugging tools (e.g., SoapUI, Postman). Understanding of security practices for SOAP-based web services (e.g., WS-Security, SSL/TLS). Experience in working with databases and integrating them with SOAP web services. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with RESTful API development for hybrid service architectures. Experience in integrating SOAP services with front-end applications. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience working with cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure) in relation to web services. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for SOAP service deployments. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare transaction standards. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3+ years of professional experience in SOAP web services development, with at least 1 year working directly with HETS APIs (preferred).
