Do you love Minecraft and enjoy working with children? If you have a friendly and patient personality that kids adore, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
**Position:**
Playing Minecraft with Japanese Young Kids who have very limited English proficiency as their English tutor and playmate.
No Japanese language proficiency required.
**Job Overview:**
In this role, prior English teaching experience isn't a major requirement. Our students, mostly 6 to 8-year-old boys new to English learning, are exposed to basic and straightforward content. We cover simple topics like naming "colors, animals, and body parts," and introduce basic phrases such as "I want" and "I have" to those just starting to grasp English.
Additionally, many parents hope our project sparks their children's interest in English, emphasizing the enjoyment of using English before delving into formal learning. Therefore, we're seeking teachers who can connect with children and make them think, "Playing with foreign friends in Minecraft is fun!" or "Using English with the teacher adds an extra layer of enjoyment!" We value teachers who create an engaging and relatable learning experience.
We offer two courses, each with its own concept:
Course 1: Minecraft English Course (focus learning)
In this course, we define a specific learning theme for each lesson, such as “Colors and Animals”, “how to use 'I want to' and 'I want'.” Students learn English through activities aligned with these themes. The primary objective is for students to acquire new words and phrases while having fun.
Course 2: Let's Play Minecraft Course in English (focus playing)
For this course, we choose enjoyable activity themes for each lesson, like "Creating different biomes" or "Going on a diamond hunt." Here, the focus is to 'create opportunities for conversation in English.' When they find playing with the teacher enjoyable, it naturally brings out their motivation to talk with the teacher. They begin expressing their desire to converse and play with the teacher, sharing what they want to do. Consequently, their enthusiasm to learn and use English increases, as they aim to make their playtime even more enjoyable.” So the teacher doesn't actively teach English, but students are expected to naturally remember new words and phrases through repeated exposure during lessons.
[Lesson Flow for Course 1]
1. **Introduction (Approx. 10 minutes):**
- Brief students on today's vocabulary theme and planned activities.
- For instance, we can learn colors and numbers in the Minecraft world using color blocks.
2. **Minecraft Activities (Approx. around 30 minutes):**
- Engage in planned activities, occasionally prompting students to use learned words.
- Add fun instructions like "Create something with red and yellow blocks" or "Let's make 2 snowmen! What colors do we need?"
- Strike a balance between structured learning and creative enjoyment.
3. **Review (Approx. 5-10 minutes):**
- Recap learned words, asking questions to check comprehension.

- Our diverse team includes professionals globally, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds.
- Our unique "learn English through Minecraft" approach is gaining popularity, increasing student numbers. We urgently need passionate teachers; while current rewards are modest, we anticipate future success. Applications from eager contributors are welcome.
- Our preferred time is Weekends 9:00 - 13:00or 14:00, and 17:00 - 21:00. But currently, we are especially looking for candidates who can work during Japanese hours, from 9:00 to 13:00 or 14:00.
But You don’t have to attend all of it, just if there’s a time slot within this that works for you, that would be fine.
Our interview style is very unique. Feel free to play Minecraft with my 9-year-old son for 30 minutes. You don’t need to focus on teaching English during the interview; just aim to make it enjoyable for him. This is because ensuring lessons are enjoyable relies not just on teaching skills but also on the teacher’s personality and performance.
Teachers can influence the classroom atmosphere, making it enjoyable, motivating, boring, or even tedious, depending on the individual teaching style. That’s why I designed the interview in this manner. I aimed to observe how the applicant interacts with children with limited English proficiency and how they become familiar with Minecraft.
If you meet these requirements and share our enthusiasm for Minecraft and education, we want to hear from you. This is an opportunity to be a part of an exciting, expanding project with a bright future ahead. Join us and make a difference while having fun! Apply now!
Hello.
As a mother of 3 childrens, I do have passion for children. Most specially on teaching them to love learning but not just learning I also instill playing while learning. Since I have 3 kids myself, I have learned to play Minecraft so that I can bond with them. I have also been a tutor here in our country.
