e are looking for an experienced engineer or developer to assist in designing and building a custom pair of Augmented Reality (AR) glasses. The goal is to create AR glasses that integrate with an application allowing for video calls, where the user’s background is isolated and replaced with the caller's presence, making it appear as though the caller is in the same room as the user. This project requires expertise in both hardware and software development - we are only seeking help with hardware development, since we are working on software development ourselves. These glasses will primarily serve the healthcare/medical field, with a key feature being the capacity for real-time video calls. The integration of these capabilities will need to occur directly on the AR glasses themselves. Ideal skills and experience for the job include: - Expertise in AR technology and hardware development - Experience in creating custom AR devices, preferably for the healthcare sector - Knowledge of video call integration within AR systems - Proficiency in engineering and design principles - Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, functional tech products - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Project Scope: Hardware Design and Assembly: Frame Design: Design a comfortable, lightweight frame for the AR glasses. The frame should accommodate an OLED or LCD display, sensors, and a battery. Display Integration: Install a small OLED or LCD display capable of showing AR content and video calls. Sensors: Integrate an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) such as the MPU-6050, which includes an accelerometer and gyroscope for tracking head movements. Microcontroller: Choose and integrate a microcontroller (e.g., ESP32 or Raspberry Pi Zero W) that supports Bluetooth or Wi-Fi for communication with external applications. Power Supply: Include a rechargeable Li-Po battery and ensure it has a sufficient capacity for extended use. Integrate a charging circuit. Assembly: Assemble all components into the frame, ensuring secure placement and minimal discomfort for the user. Ensure proper wiring and component placement. Documentation and Support: Technical Documentation: Provide detailed documentation on the design, hardware components, software, and integration procedures.
