Greenhouse Gas Emissions Web Application

• You are tasked with creating a web application to display Greenhouse Gas Emissions data for Ireland. You have been given data in multiple formats – a set of predicted emissions in XML from the Government data website [login to view URL] and a set of actual readings for 2023 in JSON format available on Brightspace (note that these are for academic purposes only and are not accurate). Descriptions for all emission categories are available at [login to view URL]

• You must parse the data, model it in a way that all the data is integrated in one logical entity and store it in your MySQL database using Hibernate. You must then make that data available to users (who must first register and login) so they can view all emissions and view by category

• Include functionality to allow CRUD operations on emissions (create new, view, edit and delete) and users.

• The parsers should be integrated into your webapp, i.e. an endpoint should make a call to run the parsers, which in turn populates the database.

You must parse with the following rules:

• Value must be present and greater than 0

• Scenario must be WEM (With Existing Measures)

• For one year only i.e., 2023

• You should have a total of 245 entries

• Using the [login to view URL] website, include a description of the category in your database

• Make CRUD operations available for both users and emission records.

You will be asked questions on the parsers, JPA and JAXRS parts of the submission. Your inability to answer the questions will invoke a plagiarism investigation.

You can use Quarkus, Spring (Spring MVC, Springboot) or standalone JAX-RS (REST) Library with JPA (Hibernate).

SUBMIT .java files (NOT .class files) and all configuration files.

A demo video is required. Record a video demoing your web app. Show all working functionality in the demo, explain the stack you used, show the database containing the data from your webapp and explain anything that doesn't work. It should be approximately 5 minutes or less
