Contest Brief

I'm seeking a Python developer to create an automated script that pulls daily stock price information for S&P 500 companies from public APIs. The script should be able to flexibly pull data for the last 30 days, 356 days, or more, depending on a single manual input.

Key Features:
- Data points to be collected: Ticker, Name, Low, High, Volume, Previous earnings date, Next earnings date, Running days since last earnings, Days to next earnings, Previous Fed meeting, Next Fed meeting, Days since last meeting, Days to next meeting.
- Use of Pandas for data pulling and manipulation.
- Output data to be stored in a CSV file.

Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Python and Pandas.
- Experience with data extraction from public APIs.
- Familiarity with stock market data and terminology.
- Ability to create automated scripts with flexible parameters.

    Yes, it's possible to set up the functionality you're asking for, but there are a few challenges you'll need to address, particularly around providing accurate historical data for Fed meetings and earnings dates when you query data for past years. Most of the free APIs you're using (such as the ones from Financial Modeling Prep) return current and recent data, but they may not support fully accurate historical earnings or Federal Reserve meeting data, especially for older dates.

    I have developed this for personal use. I run it on my other mac, so it is designed for macos in mind. If you dont have a mac, ill just send you the data but i do understand the need for the data collector as well.

    if you happen to see this post can you clarify one point, are you comfortable with authentication integration with third party sites even if they are free they require API-KEY to fetch the requested dataset or are you looking for only free available and reliable APIs which does not require authentication and get the data in the required format.
