Our software needs to introduce AI for a natural language query system.
- The software (an estimating tool named QDV - [login to view URL]) currently lacks a built-in search feature and I'm uncertain about its current capabilities, so the implementation should cover this aspect as well.
- The AI should be able to scan and retrieve information from both our documentation and technical support answers.
- It's crucial that the AI can understand and process natural language queries efficiently.
The ideal candidate should have experience with AI integration and search algorithms. Ideally he/She would know a bit about C# programming. He/She should also have a good understanding of software documentation and technical support systems. A strong grasp of natural language processing and machine learning would be a plus.
Our software is written using C# and VB .NET. The source documentation is made of several documents:

We'll also have a few web sites from our resellers where answers and question to help desk can be found.
The idea is, at the end to avoid the maintenance of this document: [login to view URL] Only the what's new not will be enriched meaning that the engine should be able to absorb the content of the existing documentation once and get more information from the what's new note and maybe some other word documents that our developers may append to the solution.
The help desk websites of the resellers (2 websites) will have to be scanned regularly by the engine to get more information about answers brought to end users.
At the end, we'll remove the CHM files from the software (which are currently what we have on above addresses) and in place of that, the user will see a query engine written in C# or even a page in a browser. The tool doesn't have to work off line.
So far, we have some tags in the software which are also in the documentation to bring contextual help when the user presses F1. That would be nice to keep such a solution. Maybe it could be replaced with a post in natural language to the AI engine.
The engine could be ChatGPT or any other engine as soon as we have no fee to use it and we can make sure the engine is perennial.
Important: Most of the source documents are in English but, depending of the resellers, the help desk answers can be in French and in the future in many other languages. So the engine must be able to analyze documents in different languages and produce answers in the user's language.
We have time to implement this (a few months). We are looking for someone with similar experience.
the price shown is indicative, we could also work with a hourly rate or daily rate. We have more money for this project if needed.
The cost is not the major driver, we need someone able to prove that he/she was able to implement something similar.
