Project Overview:
We are seeking skilled professionals to migrate our existing Hospital Information System (HIS) application developed in Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports to a modern, web-based architecture using Oracle APEX and BI Publisher. The current application serves as a critical system for managing hospital operations, including patient management, billing, inventory, HR, and more.
The project involves converting all functionality, workflows, and reports while ensuring high performance, usability, and scalability. The target system should maintain data integrity, provide responsive design for access across devices, and include enhanced security measures.

Project Scope:
1. Application Conversion:
o Convert all Oracle Forms modules to Oracle APEX.
o Recreate all workflows, validations, and triggers in APEX.
o Maintain or improve existing functionality while leveraging APEX features for better user experience.
2. Reports Migration:
o Convert all existing Oracle Reports to BI Publisher.
o Maintain the same report structure, data accuracy, and layout.
o Enable flexible reporting options (e.g., scheduling, exporting to multiple formats).
3. Database Integration:
o The current system uses Oracle Database. All data structures (tables, views, procedures, and triggers) must remain intact and optimized for the new system.
o Optimize SQL queries for enhanced performance.
4. User Interface Design:
o Create a modern and responsive UI using Oracle APEX.
o Ensure a user-friendly interface for doctors, nurses, administrators, and other staff.
5. Security:

o Secure sensitive patient and operational data using modern encryption and authentication methods.
6. Testing and Validation:
o Conduct unit, system, and performance testing.
o Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) with stakeholders to ensure functionality and usability.
Skills Required:
• Expertise in Oracle Forms and Oracle APEX.
• Experience with BI Publisher and converting Oracle Reports.
• Proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Strong understanding of responsive web design and modern UI/UX principles.
• Knowledge of healthcare systems and data compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) is a plus.

Hello Nasser,
I understand that you are looking to migrate your existing Hospital Information System (HIS) from Oracle Forms and Reports to a modern, web-based architecture using Oracle APEX and BI Publisher. This project is crucial as it supports the essential operations of the hospital, including patient management, billing, and HR. My approach will ensure a seamless conversion of workflows and reports while enhancing usability and performance, providing role-based access and strong security measures.
I will ensure that the current data structures remain unchanged and optimized during the migration, creating a responsive UI to enhance user experience for all staff members. Comprehensive testing will be conducted to confirm the system’s functionality and data integrity, guaranteeing a smooth transition.
What specific timelines do you have in mind for completing the migration process, and are there any critical milestones we should be aware of?
Thanks,
Muhammad Awais
Hello Nasser,
I am excited about the opportunity to work on migrating your Hospital Information System (HIS) to Oracle APEX. With over 5 years of extensive experience in Oracle development, I am well-prepared to handle the application conversion while ensuring the highest standards of functionality, performance, and security.
The project scope aligns perfectly with my expertise. I will efficiently transform your Oracle Forms modules and transition all reporting to BI Publisher, preserving data integrity and enhancing user experience. I also prioritize creating a responsive design that meets the needs of all hospital staff while implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive data.
Regular testing and validation will be integral to my approach, ensuring that each step meets your performance and usability standards before final delivery. How do you envision the final user experience for different hospital roles such as doctors, nurses, and administrators?
Thanks,
