Modeling and Analysis of New Advanced FACTS Devices for Voltage Swells Mitigation
Twentieth International Middle East Power Systems Conference (MEPCON), Cairo, Egypt, 2018
This article focuses on the operation and the effect of advanced SVC and STATCOM devices under several scenarios of voltage swell magnitudes. The magnitude for swells is selected according to what is specified in standard IEEE 1159:2009 and NTC 5000:2013.
Simulation of advanced STATCOM for voltage swell mitigation in large-scale test system

Simulation of advanced STATCOM for voltage swell mitigation in large-scale test system based on swarm intelligence algorithms
Mitigation of voltage swells in IEEE 30 bus and IEEE 57 bus systems using evolutionary techniques
European Journal of Electrical Engineering
The main objective of this research is to give as complete as possible analysis of voltage swell and their mitigation in power systems. For every voltage swell magnitude, evolutionary computing methods will be used to determine the parameters of the traditional FACTS like inductor and capacitor values and also these methods will be used to get the best values of PI controller gains connected to the traditional FACTS.
