I'm seeking a part-time exhibition assistant and translator for an upcoming event.
Event Details:
- Date: 24-25 Oct 2024
- Time: 09:00 – 18:00 (includes a 1-hour lunch break with a meal allowance)
- Location: MITEC, Kuala Lumpur
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate inquiries from Bahasa Malaysia to English
- Greet and welcome visitors to the booth
- Provide customer service and explain booth information
- Assist in processing collected information
- Help organize exhibition booth materials
Ideal Candidate:
- A current student or graduate with a higher diploma or above, preferably in Electrical Engineering
- A local Malaysian with strong English skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive, optimistic, and proactive personality
- Engineering background preferred, specifically in Electrical Engineering
Skills and Experience:
- Translation skills (Bahasa Malaysia to English)
- Customer service experience
- Engineering knowledge (preferably Electrical Engineering)
- Ability to organize and manage booth materials

As a Malaysian graduate from the field of linguistic studies and equipped with 9 years of experience in the corporate world, one of primary my day-to-day tasks includes translation works especially from BM to English. BM-English translation (both verbally and written) is my bread and butter. I'm very good at communicating with the target audience and making the customers understand complex things more easily.
Plus, I can also speak basic conversational Mandarin, making it easier to communicate at work.
