Implement Sidekiq/Redis for Rails site

I've got a Ruby/Rails site ([login to view URL]) hosted on Ninefold ([login to view URL]) that I need Sidekiq/Redis (delayed jobs) implemented in. What currently happens; * User initiates process on the site, and generally will upload a file * Current Execute function takes the uploaded file, runs a Ruby script over it and then outputs a file/group of files * If the user doesn't upload a file, the Ruby script will do it's thing and either output a file/not as required. The issue is that my web server times out if the Ruby script step exceeds 60-70 seconds, and the user gets presented with a error page and I get a cranky email. The system works fine for processes less than this timeframe. Please mention 'Redis Radis Roo' in your reply so I know you've read the brief. What I need; 1. For processes that result in outputted file/s; implement Sidekiq/Redis to take the job, process it and return the outputted file to the user as a download, whilst presenting them with some type of progress bar (coffeescript/javascript preferably; simpler is better) in the meantime; ie the user is waiting for the process to finish. 2. For processes that don't result in an outputted file; implement Sidekiq/Redis to take the job, and based on a parameter on the main process screen, either; a) User will wait - Present a progress bar (again coffeescript/javascript preferably) to the user, and let them know when it finished via a flash ('Job completed successfully') b) User won't wait - Present the user a flash saying 'Job queued, please see your email for completion'. Once the job is completed, email the user per their registered email address. If the job isn't completed successfully Other details * Current web server on Ninefold has Redis available; see [login to view URL] * Code is hosted on Bitbucket * HAML, Sass for styling. S3 for adhoc file storage if needed. * Ruby/Rails are up to date * Currently have good test coverage via RSpec, I'd like you to ensure you write adequate tests for the code you write. I don't expect you to be able to complete the job based on this brief, so factor in a 20-30 minute screensharing session (teamviewer/screenhero preferred over Skype) so I can walk you through the UI and the types of Ruby scripts I'm currently running and expecting to run in the future.
