Behaviour of Steam Generator Top and Bottom Flanged Connections at Elevated Temperatures
Pressure Vessels and Piping, “OPE 2006 – CHENNAI”, 7-9, February 2006, Chennai, India
This paper analyses the behaviour of SGTF Steam Generator flange joints at elevated temperatures, mainly with respect to the effect of differential thermal expansion of stud and flange materials. Taking these into consideration, alternative materials for studs and gasket are explored and provision of sleeves between the nut and flange to nullify the thermal differential expansion is suggested.
The aim of the project is to study the variation in correlation parameters for the Measure-Correlate-Predict (MCP) method between the wind speed data of pseudo wind farm site and meteorological site. We are also exploring behaviour of power curve for real wind farm in UK.
This project has been developed in the framework of the MSc in Energy Systems and the Environment under the Sustainable Engineering program in the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
Thermal Modelling and Control of Domestic Hot Water Tank
A Solar Domestic Hot Water (SDHW) system recovers the energy from the solar collector panel and transfers it to the domestic hot water tank. The objectives of this project are to understand the heat transfer characteristic of a SDHW system and to explore the fact that these modified hot water cylinder could be controlled in such a way that they operate efficiently.
