We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer / System Administrator to set up and configure a robust and secure server environment for an e-commerce website with significant traffic.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in server setup and hardening, with specific expertise in NGINX reverse proxy configuration, CentOS, Cloudflare, and WordPress. Knowledge of DigitalOcean droplets and a strong understanding of SSL/TLS encryption using Let's Encrypt and Cloudflare certificates are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- NGINX Reverse Proxy Setup: Configure NGINX as a reverse proxy using DigitalOcean droplets.
- Database Server Configuration: Set up a separate database server on the same LAN, ensuring it is accessible only via private IP.
- Server Hardening: Implement security best practices to ensure the server environment is secure and resilient against potential threats.
- WordPress Installation and Configuration: Install and configure WordPress on the server, optimizing it for high traffic.
- Cloudflare Integration: Set up and configure Cloudflare for enhanced security and performance.
- SSL/TLS Encryption: Implement and manage SSL/TLS encryption using Let's Encrypt on the server and Cloudflare certificates.
- Ongoing Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the server environment, ensuring high availability and performance.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in setting up NGINX reverse proxy servers.
- Strong knowledge of CentOS.
- Experience with setting up and managing database servers on a private LAN.
- Expertise in server hardening and security best practices.
- Extensive experience with WordPress installation, configuration, and optimization.
- Proficiency in integrating and configuring Cloudflare.
- Hands-on experience with DigitalOcean droplets.
- Strong understanding of SSL/TLS encryption and its implementation using Let's Encrypt and Cloudflare certificates.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
Qualifications ++:
- Certification in relevant technologies or cloud services.
