Project Overview: I'm seeking an illustrator to create a vehicle-themed coloring book tailored for preschoolers, specifically targeting the age group of 2-4 years old. Key Requirements & Details: Illustrations: The artwork should feature a simple and bold style to appeal to preschoolers who are just beginning to learn coloring and shapes. The goal is to create drawings that are appealing, understandable, and engaging for this age group. Theme: The coloring book will revolve around the adventures of the garbage truck cartoon character named Rubbish Ralph and his two friends, as they interact with various city vehicles. We aim to feature a variety of vehicles such as cars, trucks, tractors, airplanes, etc. A picture of the character and two friends is attached. Creativity in the illustrations, while keeping the young audience in mind, is highly encouraged. Detailing: Given that children at this age are still developing their motor skills, intricate details should be avoided. Simplicity and clarity are paramount in the design to ensure ease of coloring. Deliverables: 40 Original Copyright-Free Coloring Book Pages: Each page should be provided as a separate PDF file, ready for printing. These pages will feature vehicle-themed illustrations suitable for coloring by preschoolers. Cover Page: One of the 40 pages should be fully colorized and used for the cover of the coloring book. Technical Specifications: The package of files should be prepared for submission to Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) as an 8.5 x 11-inch paperback book. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate should possess prior experience in children's book illustration or a related field. An understanding of children's cognitive and motor skill development for the specified age group, and the ability to translate these considerations into the design, will be highly valued.
