Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced FPGA Hardware Engineer to design, test, and optimize our custom Xilinx FPGA board, which integrates into a PCIe slot for monitoring DMA-level activities on connected PCs. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to signal integrity, power distribution, and overall system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Debug and analyze a 10-layer dense board, featuring Xilinx 7000 series FPGA, thoroughly for any hardware or signal issues.
Work closely with hardware and firmware teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues in signal integrity, power distribution, and performance optimization.
Design, test, and validate hardware solutions for FPGA systems and optimize for performance and power efficiency.
Utilize hardware simulation tools such as ModelSim, Vivado, or similar to simulate and verify designs.
Analyze and interpret signal data from oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Conduct hardware/software co-simulation to ensure system compatibility and performance.
Collaborate with design engineers to implement modifications and enhance the FPGA design, ensuring it meets project specifications.
Maintain thorough documentation of design processes, testing results, and board modifications for traceability and reporting.
Requirements:
Proven expertise in signal processing, debugging, and troubleshooting complex hardware systems.
Experience with hardware simulation tools such as ModelSim, Vivado, or equivalent for FPGA testing and validation.
Deep understanding of PCB design and multi-layer board layouts, specifically for dense, high-performance systems.
Proficiency with signal integrity tools and equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
Strong knowledge of FPGA architecture and VHDL/Verilog for FPGA development.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with high-speed communication protocols (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, DDR).
Experience with power integrity analysis and thermal management.
Previous work with Xilinx development tools (Vivado, SDK, etc.).
