I'm in need of a modern and sleek newsletter header. This design should encapsulate a corporate color scheme, primarily utilizing blues and greys. Key components to be included in the header are:

- Logo
- Tagline
- Newsletter Title
- Newsletter Headline
- Call to Action buttons
- Display the date of the newsletter for relevance and timeliness.
- Include navigation links to important sections of the newsletter or website.

Newsletter Header/Hero Section Design Objectives Overview for The Encore Project

Objective: The Encore Project is seeking an accomplished graphic design team to create a visually compelling and engaging Header/Hero Section for our monthly newsletter. To identify the best design, we are hosting a contest with a $100 award for the winning submission.

The newsletter will feature 20 articles—two per each of the 10 categories we feature on our website https://theencoreproject.org.

For the purposes of this contest, your entry’s design will focus on the proposed January of 2025 issue.  
At the bottom of these project details, we are attaching a link to a OneDrive folder containing an initial draft of the Newsletter layout, displaying a “placeholder” header/hero section. The new design should enhance readability, promote user engagement, and align with our brand identity.

Newsletter Structure:

Hero/Header Section: This section, may have several distinct rows. The top (larger section) will feature the Logo & Tagline, and we will leave it to the design team to propose the best position to include the other elements.  

Branding: Prominently display The Encore Project's logo and tagline to reinforce brand identity. Find Logo files in the aforementioned OneDrive folder (link at bottom).

Newsletter Title: Prime Time Monthly… for January 2025.  Incorporate our newsletter Name / Title and month of publication. We will leave it to the design team to determine if the title and month are on the same line, or separate lines.

Consider a seasonal image to support the monthly theme (Fireworks, Sunrises, Open Roads or Paths for the journey ahead and the possibilities of the new year, Winter Landscapes showcasing serene snow-covered scenes, Frost-Kissed Nature: Close-ups of frosted leaves.   

We use Playfair Display and Poppins fonts on our website. Fonts for the title should be unique but complimentary of our existing fonts.

Issue Headline: The headline will obviously change monthly to include a unique, engaging headline for each issue to highlight the main theme or focus. It will be positioned prominently, but perhaps not in the same section/row as other elements. For the purpose of this contest, use this headline for your entry: “Embracing New Beginnings for the New Year” Include a Call-to-Action (CTA): "Explore Now."

Design Requirements:
Visual Appeal: The hero section should be simple yet engaging, capturing readers' attention and encouraging them to explore the newsletter further. We are eager to see design options that use compelling and engaging backgrounds, such as carefully crafted gradient colors, or subtle (screened) images that reenforce our message, or other visually appealing concepts.

Consistency: We plan to maintain a cohesive design that aligns with The Encore Project's branding and aesthetic across all sections.

Responsiveness: Ensure the design is mobile-friendly and renders well on various devices and screen sizes.

Additional Recommendations:

 Please make additional recommendations or suggestions, above and beyond what we have specified if you feel they will enhance the overall visual appeal of the Newsletter.

Submission Guidelines:

Format: Submit designs in a high-resolution format compatible with standard email marketing platforms. Attach the new design to the content section we have provided to create a seamless document design that unifies the transition from the header to the content section.
Rationale: Provide a brief explanation of your design choices and how they align with The Encore Project's mission and audience.

Allow for two to three edits

Alignment with Objectives: How well the design meets the outlined goals and requirements.
Creativity: Originality and innovation in design elements and layout.
Usability: Ease of navigation and readability for the target audience.
Responsiveness: Effectiveness of the design across various devices and screen sizes.

The ideal freelancer for this job should have a strong background in graphic design, with specific expertise in digital newsletter design. A keen understanding of modern design principles and corporate aesthetics is essential. Prior experience in designing for corporate brands would be highly advantageous. Please provide a portfolio of similar projects you've completed.

The newsletter's primary goal is to enhance brand awareness.
