Below are the details of the tasks involved: ### Requirements: 1. **Cluster Setup:** - Set up k3s clusters on Hetzner dedicated servers. - Configure Kubernetes mutual certificate authentication for secure communication. - Implement a firewall to secure port `6443` or utilize a virtual switch for added security. 2. **Networking:** - Configure MetalLB in layer-2 mode with a virtual switch and public IPs. - Ensure proper load balancing and network reliability. 3. **Ingress Management:** - Set up NGINX Ingress Controller alongside Traefik for managing different endpoints. - Install and configure Cert-Manager for SSL certificate management as per their official documentation. 4. **Storage Solutions:** - Deploy Longhorn for distributed and replicated storage within the cluster. - Configure Garage-S3 on a dedicated cluster for backups. 5. **Service Configuration:** - Use environment variables or ConfigMaps (mounted as files) to configure services and databases. 6. **Monitoring and Logging:** - Install and configure the Prometheus stack with Grafana and Loki for monitoring and log collection. - Set up alerts to notify our Slack instance when issues occur. 7. **Database Integration:** - Assist with MongoDB setup using official Mongo documentation or a "Mongo Operator" Helm chart. ### Deliverables: - Fully configured and operational k3s clusters with the above features. - Documentation of all configurations and steps for future reference. - Support for troubleshooting any issues during the implementation. ### Skills Required: - Kubernetes (k3s experience preferred) - Networking and Load Balancing (MetalLB, Layer-2) - Storage Solutions (Longhorn, S3-compatible backups) - Ingress and SSL Management (NGINX, Traefik, Cert-Manager) - Monitoring Tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) - Database Setup (MongoDB) If you have the expertise to take on this project, please apply with your experience and estimated timeline for completion.
