Project Overview:
We are looking for an experienced IoT hardware developer to help design and prototype a motion-sensor device that will be integrated into an E27 lightbulb form factor. This device will track movement, connect to WiFi, and send data to a cloud platform for real-time monitoring. If no movement is detected after a specific period, the device will trigger an alert. The successful candidate will have experience with hardware prototyping and integrating WiFi-enabled microcontrollers with sensors.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop a motion-sensor device that fits into an E27 lightbulb housing.
Integrate a motion sensor (PIR or Radar) with a WiFi-enabled microcontroller (e.g., ESP8266, ESP32).
Ensure seamless WiFi connectivity for data transmission to the cloud.
Design and develop a power management solution for the device using the lightbulb socket (AC to DC conversion).
Prototype and test the device to ensure reliable motion detection and data transmission.
Provide detailed documentation for the hardware design and functionality.
Required Skills:
Experience with IoT hardware development, specifically with microcontrollers like ESP8266/ESP32.
Expertise in integrating motion sensors (PIR, Radar) and wireless communication (WiFi).
Familiarity with power management for devices using AC to DC conversion.
Experience with PCB design and prototyping.
Ability to test, troubleshoot, and iterate on prototypes.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of cloud-based IoT platforms (AWS IoT, Google Cloud IoT, etc.).
Familiarity with communication protocols like MQTT or HTTP for data transmission.
Experience working with compact form factors for consumer electronics.
Project Timeline:
The project is expected to be completed within 6-8 weeks, with regular check-ins on progress.
Deliverables:
A fully functional hardware prototype.
Complete documentation for the hardware design, component choices, and setup.
Location:
Remote, but preference will be given to candidates who can ship prototypes for testing
