Description:
We are seeking an experienced algorithm engineer to collaborate on a cutting-edge AR project aimed at improving golf putting accuracy. The core task involves designing and implementing an algorithm that tracks the trajectory of a golf ball rolling on a smooth but uneven (hilly) surface, while also calculating the force required to guide the ball into the hole.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop an algorithm for real-time object detection, distance measurement, and motion tracking using the Zed camera and Nvidia Jetson platform.
• Process depth data from uneven outdoor surfaces (golf greens) to generate accurate terrain models.
• Track specific aspects of the golf ball’s movement, including:
• Speed and acceleration.
• Path curvature in relation to the surface slope.
• Calculating the ideal force and direction for a putt to reach the hole.
• Implement a real-time visualization feature to overlay the trajectory prediction in AR using Xreal glasses.
Project Focus:
• Outdoor environments with dynamic lighting and uneven terrain.
• Accurate depth sensing and motion tracking on small objects (golf balls) at varying distances.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Proficiency in Python and experience with Zed camera API and Nvidia Jetson.
• Expertise in motion tracking algorithms, particularly on non-linear, uneven surfaces.
• Familiarity with real-time data visualization techniques and AR integration.
• Preferred: Experience with sports analytics, 3D point cloud processing, or golf-related technologies.
Deliverables:
1. A functional algorithm that processes depth data from Zed camera and outputs real-time golf ball trajectory information.
2. Integration of the visualization overlay feature with Xreal AR glasses.
3. A demo showcasing the algorithm’s performance on a standard golf green.
