I'm in need of a competent bilingual (Spanish & English) paralegal assistant . The tasks will encompass legal research, document drafting, and case management.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management (Clio experience required):
Ensure all cases are updated in Clio with accurate information and deadlines.
Manage case files, create memos, and update dockets.
Ensure medical records and other necessary documents are collected and organized.
Intake & Client Communication:
Screen phone calls (via RingCentral) from potential clients, gather necessary information, and create intake notes.
If the case is personal injury, discuss with the attorney; for medical malpractice or elder neglect, coordinate with another team member.
Open new cases in Clio, create files, send letters of representation, and request medical records.
Calendar Management & Deadlines:
Keep the calendar updated for filing deadlines, doctor appointments, and other essential tasks.
Ensure statutory deadlines and other case-related schedules are tracked.
Administrative Support:
Manage administrative tasks like sending reminders for upcoming deadlines and client meetings.
Organize and maintain client records, medical appointments, and case-related documents.
Legal Drafting & Discovery:
Assist with legal drafting, including motions, discovery responses, and demands (requires training if unfamiliar).
Coordinate with the legal team on drafting and filing documents.
Help with discovery responses and basic legal research (use of LexisNexis or Westlaw may be required for research).
Autonomous & Self-Starter:
Able to work independently, organize tasks, and handle complex administrative duties without constant supervision.
Capable of troubleshooting and ensuring all aspects of case management are taken care of.
