Static Digital Map with Markers Creation -- 2

Creation of a Digital Map of the Eweland Region Project Goal: Development of a digital, interactive map of Eweland (Southern Togo and Volta Region) at a scale of approximately 1:400,000. The map should be user-friendly, expandable, and eventually available online. ________________________________________ Functions and Requirements: 1. Fixed Elements: o National borders, regions, districts, and prefectures. o Rivers, lakes, and existing or planned reservoirs. o 12-mile maritime boundary and exclusive marine zone. o Major roads, capitals, and key towns. o A comprehensive map legend. 2. Interactivity and Expandability: o Zoom Functionality: At least up to 200%. o Future Additions:  New towns and roads.  New reservoirs.  Symbols of various types and sizes (to mark individual projects).  Numbering and description of major projects. o Capability for the project owner to continuously make adjustments and updates. 3. Future Online Availability: o The map should be designed to allow easy online publication at a later stage. 4. Software and Cost Efficiency: o Use of free or low-cost software wherever possible. o The software should be user-friendly and suitable for non-experts to enable independent modifications. ________________________________________ Additional Notes: • Technical Requirements: Consider using software such as QGIS (free and open-source) or similar platforms. The map should be delivered in a vector format (e.g., SVG or GeoJSON) to ensure flexibility and high quality. • Data Sources: Use reliable geographical data sources, such as OpenStreetMap, with the capability to integrate additional data as needed. • User Guide: A short guide for the project owner to edit and update the map should be included. • Phased Implementation: o Phase 1: Creation of the base map with fixed elements. o Phase 2: Development of tools and processes for the owner to update the map independently. o Phase 3: Preparation for online publication.
