Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Solutions Architect & Engineer with comprehensive expertise in Azure infrastructure, security, networking, identity management, automation, and scripting. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing a secure and scalable Azure environment using best practices such as Landing Zones, Management Groups, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform. You will be responsible for managing Azure Virtual Desktops (AVD), automating workflows, and ensuring security and high availability across Linux and Windows environments. Additionally, expertise in Azure Security and Azure Scripting (PowerShell/Azure CLI) is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and Implement Azure Infrastructure:
o Architect, deploy, and manage a robust Azure Landing Zone and Management Group hierarchy following best practices for scalability, governance, and security.
o Set up Virtual Networks (VNets), Subnets, VNet Peering, Azure Firewall, Bastion, and ExpressRoute/VPN Gateway for hybrid connectivity.
o Ensure high availability and autoscaling for critical workloads using Azure VM Scale Sets, Azure App Services, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Deployment and Management:
o Set up and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) to provide secure remote desktop access for users across different environments.
o Optimize AVD sessions, manage scaling based on user load, and integrate MFA and SSO for seamless authentication.
o Configure and automate AVD performance monitoring and cost management.
• Security and Identity Management:
o Implement enterprise-grade security controls with Azure Firewall, Web Application Firewall (WAF), Network Security Groups (NSGs), and Azure Active Directory (AD).
o Enforce RBAC policies, conditional access, and ensure Zero Trust architecture.
o Manage Azure AD SSO and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for enhanced security.
o Utilize Azure Key Vault for secure storage and management of credentials, keys, and certificates.
• Network Architecture:
o Design and configure Azure networking, including VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, BGP, and DNS management (internal and external).
o Set up Traffic Manager, Load Balancers, and optimize network performance for applications.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
o Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and Bicep for automated and repeatable deployment of Azure resources.
o Integrate IaC with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Git, and other DevOps tools to ensure seamless deployment.
• Automation and Scripting:
o Write and maintain advanced scripts using Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Azure Automation for infrastructure management, virtual desktop scaling, and operational automation.
o Use Azure Automation Runbooks to automate workflows, such as VM maintenance, security checks, and backup management.
• Application and Database Management:
o Deploy and manage Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure SQL Database, and ensure backup, disaster recovery, and scalability for applications hosted in Azure.
• Monitoring, Logging, and Compliance:
o Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Security Center (Defender for Cloud) to continuously assess the environment for security risks, performance issues, and operational insights.
o Set up alerts, dashboards, and custom reports for tracking infrastructure health and usage, including monitoring of Azure Virtual Desktop performance.
• Operating Systems Expertise:
o Manage both Linux and Windows-based workloads, ensuring best practices for security, performance, and scalability.
o Troubleshoot issues across diverse operating systems and ensure optimization for cloud performance.
Required Skills:
• Expert in Microsoft Azure Services:
o Deep understanding of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Virtual Networks (VNet), ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, Bastion, Load Balancers, and Azure Traffic Manager.
o Hands-on experience with Azure AD, RBAC, SSO, MFA, Azure Key Vault, and other identity and access management tools.
o Strong knowledge of Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), Azure SQL, and Azure Automation.
• Azure Security Expert:
o Extensive knowledge of Azure Security Center (Defender for Cloud), Azure Policy, Security Baselines, NSGs, WAF, and encryption practices.
o Proven experience implementing and managing Zero Trust Network principles in cloud environments.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
o Expertise with Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep, and CI/CD integration using Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
o Experience with version control systems like Git and pipeline automation for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments.
• Linux and Windows Expertise:
o Proven experience managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing both Linux and Windows-based workloads on Azure.
o Knowledge of patch management, monitoring, and security hardening for both environments.
• Automation and Scripting:
o Proficient in Azure PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Azure Automation.
o Experience with automating deployments, updates, virtual desktop scaling, and routine tasks across a wide range of Azure resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or Azure Administrator (AZ-104) certification.
• Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500) or Azure DevOps Engineer (AZ-400) certification.
• Experience with hybrid cloud solutions using ExpressRoute and VPN.
• Familiarity with SIEM systems like Azure Sentinel for advanced threat detection and response.
Soft Skills:
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in a cloud environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
