The platform will provide authorized users access to a centralized database where they can view, upload, search, and manage manuscript-related information. Features and Requirements User Authentication and Authorization Secure, password-protected login system. Role-based access control: Regular users: View and upload files, search/filter manuscripts. Manuscript Index Ability to store detailed metadata for each manuscript, including but not limited to: Title Author(s) Date of creation Tags (e.g., historical, scientific, literary) Categories (e.g., type of manuscript, language, region) Description or notes Option to attach multiple files to each manuscript (e.g., Word documents, PDFs, images, or transcription files). Each manuscript should have a unique identifier. Search and Filtering Search manuscripts by name, tags, or categories. Advanced filtering capabilities to refine results (e.g., filter by date, author, or multiple tags/categories). Support for partial matching and auto-complete suggestions in the search bar. File Management Users can upload files associated with manuscripts. File versioning: Allow multiple versions of related files for each manuscript, with the option to mark a version as "primary." Admins can delete outdated or irrelevant files. Provide previews of uploaded files (e.g., thumbnail for images, text preview for documents). User Management (Admin Features) Admin dashboard to manage users: Add, remove, or suspend users. Assign or modify user roles (Admin or Regular user). View activity logs for user actions (e.g., uploads, deletions). Set access restrictions or permissions for sensitive manuscripts or files.
