The project combined Elisp customization, Docker for environment isolation, and GitLab CI for seamless automation. Automating Org File Exports in Emacs

One of my standout projects involved working with Festvox, an open-source tool for building TTS systems. I didn’t just stop at setting it up—I took it a step further, crafting German voices from scratch and tweaking the system to deliver exactly what my client needed. The process wasn’t plug-and-play. I dug into the code—C++, Scheme, and shell scripts—making it do things it wasn’t originally designed for. Whether it was adding unique features, refining the voice quality, or making the outputs more versatile, I made it work seamlessly for the client’s vision. Building Custom TTS Solutions

The work consisted of trying to obtain the original version of an encrypted image. A modified version of AES where the S-Box parameters were changed was used in CBC mode. Using a differential distributed table, I was able to conclude that the cipher is a linear transformation in regards to the key and the IV. So it was vulnerable to a known-plaintext attack. Given that the first few bytes of all major file formats are actually known, I was able to mount an attack. I've used the s3 package with Python in order to recover the original image successfully. The name of the encrypted file was actually the IV.

The main goal was to discover the proprietary algorithm used by an application to accomplish a certain task. With the help of Ghidra, I analyzed the executable statically. I was able to pinpoint exactly where the secret sauce lied and what it was doing. Next, I was tasked to extract some data embedded inside the application. There were some obfuscations in place so it was difficult and time-consuming to try to re-implement the de-obfuscation routine. But since I already knew the real data are used from the previous work, I've used Frida to dump the data while the application was running.

A client encountered some issues trying to run a monitoring software inside a FreeBSD jail. The software is supported on Linux but not on FreeBSD 11.3. The latter was needed since other needed software were running exclusively on this particular version. So the client installed the monitoring software inside a CentOs6 jail running on the FreeBSD host. But he encountered some troubles when he tried to run it. First, I tried to find the root cause of the problem. It turned out that a particular system call was not implemented by the Linux emulator part of FreeBSD. It was used when the software tried to have access to raw sockets. After some further discussions with the client and further research, we've decided to port the software directly to FreeBSD. This way, we could run it directly on the host. So I modified the code so it could run on FreeBSD. And I wrote a step-by-step guide for the client so he could run it on his own.
