We are currently facing issues with page speed and load times, significantly impacting the user experience on our website. The goal of this task is to optimize various aspects of our site that are slowing down its performance, as highlighted in a recent Lighthouse report. Key areas needing attention include optimizing image sizes and implementing lazy loading for offscreen images to reduce initial load times. Additionally, our CSS files require cleanup to remove unused styles and minimize file size. Render-blocking resources, like synchronous JavaScript and large CSS files, should be reduced by using techniques such as async/defer and inlining critical CSS. It’s also crucial to preload the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) image to improve the perceived loading speed, ensuring it loads with high priority. Finally, heavy CPU tasks from JavaScript and other resources need to be optimized, and we must enable compression on text files to reduce download times. This comprehensive optimization will help us achieve a faster, more interactive, and user-friendly website experience. Your expertise in these performance improvements is essential to enhancing the overall speed and responsiveness of our site.
1. Avoid Unnecessarily Large Images
Compress and resize images to actual display dimensions. Convert to modern formats if possible.
2. Lazy Load Offscreen Images
Implement lazy loading for images that are offscreen, using loading="lazy" in image tags.
3. Avoid Large CSS Files
Minify CSS files and remove unused CSS to reduce file sizes.
4. Reduce Render-Blocking Resources
