Contest Brief

I'm in need of a talented digital Non-AI artist who can create illustrations for a Table Top RPG Game handbook.

Example Descriptive Prompt:
Elves are physically gifted; with tall, slender figures and sharp, angular, facial features and pointed ears. They can live for centuries, with their elegant figures remain immaculate until the very last years of their life. With time, they also develop additional floral or faunal aspects based on their local environment.
The land-based wood elves are distinct with their straight grass hair decorated with growing flowers, with females possessing smooth, green, leafy skin and males with tough, brown, bark-like skin. Underwater sea elves have wavy kelp hair, webbed hands and feet, and neck gills, with females having smooth ocean-blue skin tone decorated with colorful fish scales and males with rough, abrasive, grey skin. The avian snow elves possess light toned skins with a light layer of animal fur on the skins and plumes of feathers for hair, with males have a large additional central chest feather plume along more colorful feathers while females possess tail feathers with more muted coloring.

Ideal candidates should have:
- A strong portfolio of similar style illustrations
- Experience with creating artwork for tabletop games
- A deep understanding and appreciation for fantasy and RPGs
- Ability to deliver high-quality digital artwork on a deadline.

The project requires a total of 13 illustrations with future opportunities based on final result. Final illustrations should be delivered in JPEG or PNG format. The illustrations will be used for a digital PDF version of the handbook. The Illustrations should generally fit a page or half page format, Both vertically and horizontally. The illustrations should be delivered in screen resolution, suitable for digital use only. The illustrations should depict general fantasy influences without focusing on any specific cultural mythology.

Requested Pictures Inventory
1. Elf-Half horizontal picture of a female wood elf carrying a short bow, a female sea elf with a crossbow, and a male snow elf carrying a sling. Can be made into a half vertical if it works better.
2. Human- a half horizontal picture of a male, male, and female trio, one of Germanic ethnicity with soldier’s gear clothing, one of Hispanic/aztec complexion wearing merchant wear, and one of Briton decent in hunter’s garb. Can be made into a half vertical if it works better.
3. Short folk- a half horizontal picture of a male/ female pair of halfling with a short and plump builds with bright colored but simple tunics and lively expressions.
4. Dwarf- a half horizontal picture of a male/female pair of short, stout dwarves with rocky, cracked, skin, heavy armor, and adorned with jewels
5. Dracokin- a half vertical picture of a male female pair of tall, built dragon-people with tail, claws, scales, and light Japanese-inspired clothing.
6. Title page - a full page fantastical rendition of St George and the dragon with a team of adventurers
7. Combat- a half vertical or half combat scene using one of the class characters below.
8. Exploration- a full picture of a dracokin wizard, dwarven fighter, human cleric, short folk rogue, and elf ritualist standing atop a hill in the center setting up camp. to the left is sunlight casting over a coastal city with a defining castle. To the right is a darkness filled forest with dark background mountains.
9. Wizard-a half horizontal picture of a Dracokin in wizardly robes looking over a room with a three training dummys ablaze, frozen, and melting from acid, a summoning circle with a demon bound within its area, and a desk and chair with a wand, potion, and glowing quarter staff.
10. Fighter-a half horizontal picture of a dwarf cover in heavy plate carrying a two-handed heavy maul while looking at a trio set of armor sets: one empty, one with a light set of mail and a rapier, and of a leather gambeson, bow, and quiver.
11. Cleric- a half horizontal picture of a human in clean, flowing robes praying at an altar over three stained glass windows of a missionary in a flower field, a knight in armor shielding a maiden from ‘offscreen’ fire, and a priestly robed character making a pronouncement as lightning strikes
12. Rogue- a half horizontal picture of a short folk with their feet kicked up a table in a tavern presiding over three bags over flowing with: one of gloves, lockpicking tools, and gold. One filled with poison bottles, a blackjack, and a dagger. And one filled with wig and papers with a full mug of ale adjacent.
13. Ritualist-a half vertical picture of an elf sitting cross-legged surrounded by a circle of candles as ghostly symbols of a constellation, bear claw, and sword emanates from the circle.

The color scheme should consist of earthy tones with the desired style reminiscent of woven tapestries.

The prize is an advance on a collaboration to produce art for the Handbook and potential future products.

    Thank you all who submitted so far. After getting through the AI art (for now) I'm excited to see what talent will emerge. I see that there are still a couple of people planning to enter, so I'm planning to wait till we are 10 days into the contest till I start making final determinations. After then, if there is a few days' lull in submission, I'll choose the final winner. I'll keep sharing details as I talk with artists and develop a more refined description of the work post-award.
