Contest Brief

We are looking for a talented web designer who can help redesign one of our web pages. The main goal of the redesign is to improve user experience and styling, to provide a more modern style and increase usability.

The webpage is used by our application to allow user's to submit print jobs, it is shown after a user prints a job into our system or after they have uploaded a print file to us. It's main purpose is to show the user the job being submitted and to allow them to set any settings required for that print job.

If any icon and image files are updated or changed, new versions will need to be provided.

In addition to the information already shown on the existing web page, we also need to add the following:

1. The ability for the user to specify a page range to be printed, similar to what you see when printing from an application. i.e. 1-10 or 1,3,5,7 etc
2. We also want to show a popup window when Booklet / N-UP is chosen to allow the user to select the relevant settings in a popup window. and show a preview of how that will be output. This area will allow the same type of settings you see in Acrobat when printing under the Multiple / Booklet options.
3. A profile section, where a user can save the current settings to a profile, up to 5 profiles can be saved / defined.
4. The ability to switch to an accessible version of the page, where the buttons are changed to drop down menus for ease of use for visually impaired users, any animations etc should be suppressed on that page.

We have animations available for the various stages the job will go through when being submitted, so consideration should be given to where these animations will fit. At present an animation is shown where the preview image shows, until it is available, and where the cost shows, until the cost is available. It might be better to have a status area to shows these though. Some animations are attached for consideration in the design.

When the print job is submitted (pressing Print to CLOUD etc) then job is uploaded and a status popup shows, we would also like to modernise this screen.

The ideal freelancer for this job should possess a strong background in UX/UI design, with a proven portfolio of improving user experience through thoughtful, aesthetic design. Experience with web page redesigns is crucial, and familiarity with print will be a distinct advantage. Excellent skills in graphic design and knowledge of user-centric design principles will contribute to the success of this project.
