About Us:
We are working with a client currently using Mitel for their IVR, voicemail, and call routing services. Due to Mitel’s End of Life, our client is looking to migrate to Twilio using Elastic SIP Trunking for a more flexible and scalable solution. We are seeking a skilled professional to manage the migration process and facilitate a seamless transition.
Project Overview:
The primary goal of this project is to migrate our client’s voice infrastructure from Mitel to Twilio, implementing Elastic SIP Trunking, and configuring IVRs, voicemail management, and call routing. Additionally, the successful candidate will work with TPG and Telstra to coordinate the cutover and ensure minimal disruption during the migration.
Responsibilities:
Lead the migration from Mitel to Twilio, ensuring a smooth transition.
Configure Twilio Elastic SIP Trunking to handle IVRs, voicemails, and call routing.
Rebuild or redesign IVR flows based on the current customer requirements.
Implement and manage voicemail services using Twilio’s platform.
Coordinate with external service providers (TPG, Telstra) for the cutover and porting of numbers.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the migration.
Ensure all documentation is up to date and hand over completed system to the client’s team.
Provide ongoing support during and after the cutover to ensure system stability.
Requirements:
Proven experience with Mitel or similar PBX systems and voice infrastructure platforms.
Strong working knowledge of Twilio’s voice services, including Elastic SIP Trunking and IVR configuration.
Experience with SIP trunking, call routing, and voicemail systems.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and collaborate with third-party providers like TPG and Telstra.
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for customer and vendor interactions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in handling migrations from legacy systems to cloud-based telephony platforms.
Familiarity with Australian telecom providers, particularly TPG and Telstra, is a plus.
Twilio certification is highly desirable.
In essence, the migration involves:
Replacing the PBX functionality of Mitel (which is on-premises or legacy hardware) with Twilio’s cloud-based system (which is more flexible, scalable, and programmable).
Configuring Twilio to handle all the voice services (IVR, voicemail, call routing) that Mitel previously managed, including connecting external numbers (Telstra) and internal numbers (TPG) through Twilio’s Elastic SIP Trunking.
