Hi, I posted a project about 3 weeks ago and decided to continue with my existing drawing instead. (Thks to all those who submitted their candidacy on the other one.) I have the plans of the cottage we would like to build (Sketchup) however... we are still not 100% satisfied with those. There's something missing... we are not sure what! We would like to try some modifications so that we would really fall in love with the project. We need someone very creative that could bring our dream come true. Ex. of modifications we'd like to make: - Change the type/slope of the roof - cut off a small part of the plan - Make part of the 2nd floor a cantilever by approx 2-3 feet (we're still not sure if that would be nice) ??? That's where creativity comes in play!!!! We need to keep in mind the construction cost also! - find a way to remove the feel of "mass" walls... without changing to much the look of the project while keeping the exterior black (maybe by changing the direction of the siding, the type of siding, etc) - re-align windows Although we are on a limited budget... once we are satisfied with the exterior... there might be other parts that we would work on (interior design, etc.) I attached the picture of what I have so far and I would obviously provide the Sketchup file so you don't have to redo the whole thing again :) If you have an idea of how much this could cost... that would also be a very useful information. It looks like it still needs that something extra that would change it into a comfortable contemporary home. Hi, you have a really nice house but it can be improved much. if you take a hard look you'll notice that top floor is too massive and overwhelm a lot. I don't see plans but I'm sure you have to play with proportions. Regards Kirill

Hello, Very Nice designs! What a handsome building! I really like it. I think It would be nice if the big opening where your dining-living-kitchen could be opened & connected to an outdoor platform to enjoy the outdoor, in that way you can bring outside in and inside out. I hope you have not used all the allowed building footprint. I'm imagining what a wonderful site with lots of outside views for you to enjoy as lounging at your outdoor terrace/patio there. For window alignment ideas, I think; why not incorporate some recessed balcony to any bedroom window you have, in that way you can achieve less "massive wall" looked. As for the slope of the roof, I think it's perfect already, steeper or more gentle slope than that would ruin the proportion of the "handsome" looking building. I would like to suggests to incorporate some skylight though to enjoy the nice clear night sky. I'm an architect & interior designer, and most of my work also done with SketchUp.
